Christmas Dinner and Party

Our Christmas dinner and Party was a great success. We served 328 meals and everyone seemed to have a great time. The above photos show Santa and the kids, the snow making in process, kids waiting in line for balloons figures, the long line for Santa and people eating dinner.

Today is our Christmas dinner and party for the community. Dinner is from 5 to 6:30 and the party starts at 6pm. We have lots of people here getting the final presents wrapped, meal being prepared and many other things. The above photos are of the present wrapping area.

The above photos are of the Praise Choir and Chamber Singers from Lubbock Christian University. They were here helping us today.

Well as I told you we finally got electric over the weekend. Now last night the wires to our pump that runs the well burnt so now we have no water.

Well the rain has stopped and the sun is shinning. We managed to keep most items dry. There was a hard frost this morning and the temp. is going to be near or below freezing for the next 10 nights. That is pretty cold for our guest and volunteers staying in tents. The above photo is my Christmas tree setting on my workstation in the distribution tent.

Ohio Volunteers

The above photos are of the volunteers that are here working with us this week from Richland Road Church of Christ in Marion, Oh and the church service we had here this
morning. We had 30 in attendance which was our largest amount attending so far.

Weather Forecast Not Good

The weather forecast for tonight and Friday is calling for more rain and may be heavy at times. We are trying to be ready this time as last week we had a really big mess with standing water.

Then Came The Rain

I haven't updated any this past week because most of the days we do the same thing. We pass out food, cleaning supplies, cloths and provide 3 meals daily to those in need. Then came Friday, it started to rain the average rainfall for the entire year here is only a little over 3 inches. Well yesterday we had around 1 inch here. With the run off from the canyons we had between 4 and 6 inches of water standing in the storage area for our supplies. Needless to say we have a mess.
